Friends of LUQ,

It is hard to believe that we have reached the halfway point of summer and we hope everyone is enjoying the best parts of the season. For us, this is a period of transition. In July, after 5 years as executive director of the Light Up the Queen Foundation, Tina Betz resigned to take up the position of Director of Cultural Affairs with the City of Wilmington. During her tenure with LUQ, Tina saw us through a challenging period of growth and development, leading the way in developing a solid lineup of programs and activities that we can continue to build on. She was a stalwart supporter of LUQ prior to her employment and we are excited to have her continued involvement with LUQ. We wish her the best of luck with her new position and her future endeavors.

As we start the search for her successor, Kathleen Ford, our current Board Secretary, has agreed to step in as Interim Executive Director. During this period, its business as usual, with a full line up in place for the upcoming year, so stay tuned. And many thanks to Kathleen for volunteering to take this on during our search.

As always, we can’t do any of this without your continued support. Please continue to visit our site to keep informed with how things are progressing here for us at LUQ!

Regards,

President, Board of Directors      Interim Executive Director & Secretary, Board of Directors
